MdM in Myanmar

Médecins du Monde has been operating in Myanmar since 1994. The mission’s strategic objective is to increase access to Harm Reduction (HR) and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services by addressing health, social, legal and normative barriers through a community‑led approach and strong partnerships with local civil‑society organizations.

The main programme is implemented in Kachin State and delivers comprehensive community‑based harm reduction and HIV/AIDS prevention and care. MdM Myanmar also works with partners in other regions and remains ready to respond to disaster‑related emergencies when required.

About the role

As Logistics Coordinator, you will define, lead and ensure the implementation of the mission’s logistics strategy in a complex and evolving operational and security environment.

You will coordinate all logistics components of the mission, support programme implementation, strengthen local capacities, and contribute to the overall safety, efficiency and compliance of operations.

 

What you’ll do 

  • Define and implement the mission‑wide logistics strategy in line with operational and structural needs
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor logistics activities (supply chain, fleet, stocks, infrastructure, IT, communications and energy)
  • Manage and monitor the logistics budget and support programme teams in purchase planning
  • Supervise procurement, transport, warehousing and stock management in compliance with MdM and donor procedures
  • Manage and develop the logistics team, including recruitment, capacity building and performance follow‑up
  • Ensure proper management of buildings, equipment, fleet, IT and telecommunications
  • Contribute to proposal development, donor reporting and emergency preparedness (EPREP)
  • Support the General Coordinator in implementing and monitoring safety and security procedures
  • Prevent and address risks related to fraud and corruption.

Who you’ll work with 

You report hierarchically to the General Coordinator and work functionally with the Logistics Advisor at HQ.

You directly supervise the Logistics Manager based in Yangon and collaborate closely with programme, finance and coordination teams, as well as external partners and logistics coordination platforms.

Vos conditions d'emploi

Contract & status: 

  • Gross monthly salary: € 3,393
  • Fixed-term contract (12 months), starting 15th of June 2026 
  • Single posting

Work environment: 

  • Position based in Yangon, Myanmar
  • Regular field visits

  • 13th-month salary (for employees with more than 6 months’ seniority)

Votre profil

You are the right match if you:

  • Hold a higher‑education qualification in logistics, purchasing or supply‑chain management
  • Have at least 3 years’ professional experience in humanitarian logistics, including coordination‑level responsibility
  • Have solid experience in supply‑chain management, fleet management, stock management and safety/security
  • Are able to interact appropriately with local colleagues in a context where emotions are expressed indirectly, subtly, and with little outward display
  • Are abile to maintain a stable, calm, and constructive demeanor over time, without becoming irritated by the pace, the silences, or what remains unsaid
  • Are able to help a national logistics officer grow and develop through mentorship, empowerment, and preparation for taking on a leadership role (deputy/coordinator)
  • Are able to operate in a high-security environment without acting impulsively or recklessly.

 

This role may not suit you if:

  • You are uncomfortable working under pressure or adapting to rapidly changing contexts
  • You prefer purely technical roles without management or coordination responsibilities
  • You are not aligned with MdM’s values and activist approach
  • You are not prepared to work in a constrained operational and security environmentPlan, implement and lead the supply chain.
