The Network aims to strengthen collective impact by fostering strategic alignment, cooperation, and mutualization among its members; supporting the development and implementation of shared strategies, policies, and standards; and representing the Network externally on issues of common interest. Its functioning relies on formal governance bodies, thematic and operational working groups, and a permanent coordination team (Network Support Team) that ensures coherence, continuity, and effectiveness across the Network.
Why we need you
Within this context, you will play a central role in steering the Network’s strategic agenda, supporting its governance, and enabling collaboration among members.
You will lead and coordinate the Network Support Team (NST), which acts as the operational backbone of the Médecins du Monde International Network. The NST supports the network’s governance bodies and member organizations by facilitating coordination, information sharing, and collective processes.
What you will do
👉 Strategy: Definition, Leadership, and Alignment
- Lead the elaboration and validation process of the Network’s pluriannual strategy, as well as contribute to its definition.
- Translate strategic priorities and objectives into clear action plans, and expected results, and coordinate their implementation and follow-up.
- Monitor the Network strategy implementation and formulate regular recommandation for its evolution.
- Contribute to ensuring that the network strategy is understood, owned, and taken up by its members and governing bodies.
👉 Coordination and Governance
- Prepare, support, and facilitate relations with the Network’s governance bodies, including the production of decision-making and briefing materials.
- Coordinate network-wide initiatives falling under the mandate of Executive Directors and/or Presidents, and structure their governance (calendars, decision-making processes, follow-up mechanisms).
- Lead or contribute to the organization of regular meetings of the network governance bodies (President Council, Directors Council, yearly Network General Assembly, etc.), both virtually and in person, through agenda setting, facilitation and supervision of logistical/practical arrangements.
- Establish and maintain knowledge of individual chapters of the network and bilateral relations with their leadership, through document reading, bilateral exchanges and visits to each chapter’s HQ and/or projects.
- Design and implement appropriate monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) frameworks related to Network Annual Action Plans (based on Network Strategic Plan), and steer continuous improvement plans.
- Produce reports, activity reviews, and analytical syntheses for governance bodies and other stakeholders.
- Ensure the quality, compliance, and traceability of Network deliverables, in line with internal policies.
- Ensure structured archiving and accessibility of Network documentation and resources.
👉 Change Management and Organisational Transformation
- Contribute to and support Network-level transformation initiatives (e.g. Transition to more coordinated system to manage the network international operations; Reflection on specialization of chapters and mutualization of resources).
- Mobilise stakeholders, facilitate collective buy-in, and support the practical appropriation of changes.
- Ensure clear, regular, and coherent communication on transformation objectives, processes, and impacts.
👉 Team Management
- Supervise and support Network Support Team members (currently 7 staff), including performance management and professional development.
- Define priorities and objectives, monitor performance, and ensure the quality of outputs and services delivered.
- Support problem resolutions, take decisions within the scope of responsibility and communicate organizational orientations and policies.
- Foster a healthy, collaborative working environment and contribute to the prevention of psychosocial risks.
👉 Representation and Influence
- Represent the Network towards internal and external interlocutors.
- Promote the values and advocacy priorities of the Network.
👉 Resource Management
- Hold budgetary responsibility for the Network coordination perimeter.
- Ensure the effective allocation and optimization of human, financial, and technical resources, and arbitrate as necessary.
- Prepare the budget, monitor its execution, and implement required adjustments.
Who you will work with
You will work under the line management of the Executive Director of Médecins du Monde France (Based in France – Saint-Denis).
You will also maintain a functional relationship (operational monitoring) with the Co-coordinators of the Network Executive Committee (2 elected Executive Directors of the Network).
You will work in close collaboration with the Executive Directors and Presidents of the network, supporting collective leadership and decision-making. The Network Coordinator maintains regular exchanges with the Network President Council Co‑coordinators to ensure effective alignment between the executive and strategic levels of the network.

Employment conditions
Contract & status:
- Gross monthly salary: 4 645 €
- Permanent contract, starting June 1, 2026
- Trial period: two (2) months
Work environment:
- Position based in Saint-Denis, France
- Regular field visits
- 25% of the working time planned on the field at the time of taking office
Benefits:
- 13th-month salary (for employees with more than 6 months’ seniority)

Essentials:

Votre profil
Education and experience
- A master’s degree and at least eight years of experience in senior programme or operations management for an NGO or an organization of humanitarian sector
- Significant experience in international networks and/or platforms highly desired
- Significant experience in leading organizational transformation is a plus
- Experience of working collaboratively and effectively with a wide variety of people both internally and externally, at all levels
- Native/bilingual proficiency in English required
- Full working proficiency in French and/or Spanish highly desired.

Recruitment process
