MdM in Ukraine
MdM International Network has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, improving access to health care, especially providing comprehensive Primary Health Care (PHC), Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and Mental Health and Psychosocial support (MHPSS) services.
Since February 2022, MdM Spain is leading the country response for the network, while MdM-France is in charge of the operations in Southern Ukraine. The global strategy aims at ensuring the access to quality comprehensive healthcare services for the conflict-affected population in Ukraine.
In Southern Ukraine, MdM-France has set up its country office and a base office in Mykolaiv. An office in Odesa is still running for specific activities monitoring in Odesa. The program consists in supporting various local-based organizations in the delivery of health services for people facing severe constraints to healthcare in Mykolaev and Kherson Oblasts.
About the role
As part of the mission’s reconstructing, the main objectives are to design, manage, coordinate, adapt and assess the programs in Ukraine and their direct and indirect implementation.
What you’ll do
Under the supervision of the general coordinator, you define, plan and implement the definition of strategies, objectives and the action plans.
More specifically, your main responsibilities are:
Mission Management
- Manage a team (information sharing, setting objectives, managing leave, recruitment, disciplinary matters, security, training, skills management)
- Plan and monitor activities, and implement corrective actions when necessary
- Advise, arbitrate, and support decisions to be taken in the event of difficulties, malfunctions, and/or incidents
Program Management
- Contribute to the development of the programme strategy, and adapt and monitor its implementation
- Compile and monitor programme needs in terms of support (logistics and finance)
- Control and monitor administrative, HR, and technical regulations (legal and internal)
- Develop and monitor logical frameworks, promoting collective reflection
- Organise monitoring meetings and discussion workshops
- Prepare and monitor project budgets, ensuring sound financial follow-up and regular forecasting
- Produce regular activity reports
- Draft project documents and reports (internal and donor), including ECHO, CDCS, TOLKIEN and others
- Organise and implement logistical monitoring (procurement and technical follow-up)
- Represent MdM with donors, partners, charitable organisations, and institutional stakeholders
- Carry out and/or lead evaluations
- Supervise data collection and quality, and monitor activities and indicators
- Oversee safety and best practices
Who you’ll work with
You directly supervise the programs teams (MHPSS and medical team), as well as the grant officer and the partners (indirectly).

Contract & status:
- Gross monthly salary: 3 359 €
- Fixed-term contract (12 months), starting on January 2026
- Trial period : 1 month

Work environment:
- Position based in Mykolaiv
- Regular field visits

Your profile
You are the right match if you:
- have minimum three years of professional experience in a similar position with an international NGO
- have the ability to work quickly, under pressure, and with short deadlines
- have knowledge of the main donors: ECHO, CDCS
- speak English fluently, Ukrainian and/or Russian is highly appreciated
This role may not suit you if you:
- have no experience in working with partners
- have no experience working in a volatile environment
- are not aligned with MdM’s values and activist approach
