Les bombardements à Gaza et dans les territoires palestiniens occupés ont déjà causé des dizaines de morts et des centaines de blessés

Israel-Palestine: bombing kills hundreds in occupied Palestinian territories

As of 17 May, 198 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip since the start of escalations, including 58 children and 35 women, based on reports of health authorities. 10 Israelis have also lost their lives due to rocket fire from Gaza.

MdM calls on the international community to intervene to ensure that all parties to the conflict protect civilians and civilian lives as required by international law.

MdM condemns the killing on 15 May 2021 in airstrikes, of two medical colleagues in Gaza, who were killed with their families in their their homes. Dr Ayman Abu al-Ouf was head of the internal medicine department at Shifa Hospital. His wife, two children and three other family members were also killed. Dr Moen al-Aloul worked as a psychiatrist for the Ministry of Health before his retirement.

MdM condems also the targeting of health care facilities, and urges an immediate investigation into reports of the road leading to Shifa hospital being targeted. We also express deep concern of the damage caused to our colleagues in MSFs health care clinic, due to an airstrike beside it.

The health care system in Gaza has been on the brink of collapse even before this recent escalation.

Willy Bergogne, MdM France General Coordinator in Gaza: 'The health care system in Gaza has been on the brink of collapse even before this recent escalation, COVID-19 is still very much present in the strip, and the health care system is now facing a fatal shortage of medicines, water, and electricity.'

74 ATTACKS IN THE OCCUPIED PALESTINIAN TERRITORIES

According to WHO there has been 74 attacks against health care across the occupied Palestinian territory since the start of Ramadan, including the destruction and partial destruction of health facilities during aerial bombardment of the Gaza Strip.
