Teams representing Doctors of the World, wearing our identification, are present every day in town.
Teams representing Doctors of the World, wearing our identification, are present every day in town. You can meet them in the street, at a shopping centre, a station, a cinema, etc. But you can also meet them during their door to door visiting campaigns.
After meeting them, many of our donors choose to support us on a monthly basis, by direct debit. The regularity of such donations allows us to develop our programmes and increase our ability to respond to emergencies.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know these people do in fact represent Doctors of the World? ?
Our teams consist of approximately 10 people and are supervised by a manager. They wear clothing bearing Doctors of the World’s logo as well as a badge displaying their name; they also have an authorization issued by the Local Authority. They are not allowed to accept cash or cheques.
Are these people volunteers or employees?
We have chosen to work with external providers who are responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising these teams throughout the campaign.
Our donor recruiters are employees. They are paid on a fixed hourly basis (between €10 and €12 per hour) and do not receive any bonus linked to results.
How do I arrange a regular donation?
We accept neither cheques nor cash on the street. So we propose you support Doctors of the World by making a regular donation by direct debit. For this purpose, all you have to do is leave your contact and banking details with the representative you meet from Doctors of the World.
Is there any risk in divulging my banking details or IBAN?
No, donations by direct debit (DD) are the safest way of donating to an organisation.
In practice, to collect money from a bank account, there must be, in addition to the IBAN:
- An issuer’s national number, supplied to Doctors of the World by the Banque de France,
- A SEPA (SDD) mandate signed by the holder of the account to be debited and specifying the amount and frequency of the payment.
Your banking details cannot therefore be used for anything other than the setting up of a direct debit payable to Doctors of the World.
