ACTIVITIES
MdM provides medical and social aid to undocumented migrant populations living in the Kumpaki neighbourhood. The activities include listening, care, social support and referral to specialist services—the project combines provision of care in fixed locations with outreach activities in the areas where the migrants live.
In addition, advocacy work, based on field experience and case studies, calls for this group’s rights to be respected, at both the local and European levels.
MdM and Tohav are involved in encouraging the development of Turkish civil society and promoting human rights, which includes the right to health, for migrant populations.
OUTLOOK MdM will use the advocacy action as a tool for change, both on an operational level (modification of current Turkish legislation and respecting rights) and on a political level (objective arguments on the impact of European immigration and asylum policies that condemn migrants to insecurity and discrimination).ers.
